Q: CAN I HAVE LAMINATE OR WOOD INSTALLED ON OPEN ENDED STAIRS?
A: NO, ONLY BOX STEP INSTALLATIONS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.

Q: WILL THE INSTALLER REMOVE MY EXISTING VCT OR SHEET VINYL?
A: NOT WITHOUT A CERTIFICATE STATING THAT THERE IS NO ASBESTOS PRESENT. THERE ARE TESTING FACILITIES AVAILABLE FOR REFERRAL IN OUR OFFICE.

Q CAN THE INSTALLER CUT MY DOORS IF THE NEW FLOORING IS TOO HIGH?
A: NO, THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE DOORS TRIMMED OR CUT.

Q: DOES THE INSTALLER VACUUM FIRST?
A: NO, THE INSTALLER DOESN’T VACUUM FIRST BUT THEY DO SWEEP WELL AFTER THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING FLOORING. THEY DO VACUUM THE NEW CARPET AT THE COMPLETION OF THE INSTALLATION.

Q: WILL THE INSTALLER REPLACE ALL OF MY TACKSTRIP WITH NEW TACKSTRIP?
A: NOT UNLESS IT IS REQUESTED PRIOR TO THE INSTALL AND PAID FOR. THE INSTALLER WILL REPLACE DAMAGED OR DETERIORATED TACKSTRIP.

Q: CAN THE INSTALLER REPAIR MY SUBFLOOR?
A: WATER DAMAGED SUBFLOORS REQUIRE A LICENSED CONTRACTOR HIRED BY THE CUSTOMER TO BE REPAIRED.

Q: WILL THE INSTALLER REMOVE HEAVILY OR PET STAINED CARPET?
A: ANY SOILED CARPET DEEMED UNHEALTHY BY THE INSTALLER WILL REQUIRE PRIOR REMOVAL BY THE CUSTOMER OR PAY AN ADDITIONAL FEE TO HAVE THE INSTALLER REMOVE & HAUL AWAY. HOWEVER, IT IS STILL AT THE INSTALLERS DISCRETION.

Q: CAN THE INSTALLER GRIND MY SUBFLOOR TO MAKE IT LEVEL?
A: THE HOME DEPOT DOES NOT CURRENTLY OFFER A SUBFLOOR GRINDING SERVICE. THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTRACTING OUTSIDE HELP. WE HAVE REFERRALS AVAILABLE IN OUR OFFICE.

Q: CAN I GET CARPET ON MY OUTSIDE DECK?
A: APPROVED DECKS ARE ABLE TO HAVE OUTDOOR CARPET APPLIED WITH THE APPROPRIATE ADHESIVE.

Q: CAN THE INSTALLER PUT MY APPLIANCES OUTSIDE OR IN MY GARAGE FOR PICK-UP?
A: CHARGES TO MOVE APPLIANCES DO NOT INCLUDE MOVING THEM OUT OF THE BUILDING. CHARGES ARE ONLY FOR HANDLING THE APPLIANCES & REPLACING THEM AFTER THE INSTALLATION. THE INSTALLER GENERALLY DOESN’T MOVE THEM TOO FAR FROM WHERE THEY GO.

Q: CAN MY CARPET BE REMOVED THE DAY OR DAYS PRIOR TO MY INSTALLATION SO THAT I CAN CLEAN
AND/OR SANITIZE MY SUBFLOOR?
A: YES IT CAN, BUT THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL CHARGES. HAVE YOUR SALES ASSOCIATE CONTACT OUR OFFICE FOR DETAILS.

Q: DO THE INSTALLERS REMOVE THEIR SHOES DURING THE INSTALLATION?
A: NO, THE INSTALLERS ARE AWARE AND KNOW HOW TO KEEP YOUR NEW FLOOR CLEAN DURING THE INSTALLATION. BOOTIES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND.

Q: WILL THE INSTALLERS DIS-CONNECT OR RE-CONNECT MY ENTERTAINMENT CENTER, COMPUTER(S), APPLIANCES OR ELECTRONICS?
A: ALL ELECTRONICS ARE THE CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO MOVE & INSTALLERS DO NOT DIS-CONNECT OR RE-CONNECT ANY APPLIANCES.

Q: WILL THE INSTALLER RUN MY WIRES / CABLES (ALARM, TV OR SPEAKER ETC.) UNDER MY NEW CARPET?
A: ONLY MINIMAL GAUGE WIRES / CABLES CAN BE PLACED UNDER THE CARPET BY THE CUSTOMER AND ONLY THE CUSTOMER. HOWEVER THE INSTALLERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CUT OR DAMAGED WIRES OR CABLES WHEN REMOVING EXISTING FLOORING OR INSTALLING THE NEW FLOORING.

Q: IT’S RAINING / SNOWING OUTSIDE, CAN THE INSTALLERS STILL COME AND INSTALL MY CARPET OR HARD SURFACE PRODUCT?
A: INCLEMENT WEATHER PRESENTS ADDITIONAL OBSTACLES. FLOORINS IS BEST TRANSPORTED AND INSTALLED IN FAIR WEATHER. EMPTY 2 CAR GARAGES ARE ONE ALTERNATIVE.

Q: WHAT ABOUT WALL MIRRORS OR MIRRORED CLOSET DOORS?
A: ALL POSSIBLE CARE IS TAKEN WHEN WORKING NEAR MIRRORS; HOWEVER THE INSTALLERS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CRACKED OR BROKEN MIRRORS. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE CUSTOMER MOVE THE MIRROR TO A SAFE PLACE PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION AND REPLACE AFTER THE INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.

Q: HOW LONG WILL MY INSTALLATION TAKE?
A: YOUR PROJECT MANAGER CAN GIVE YOU A GUESTIMATE BUT YOUR INSTALLER CAN GIVE YOU A BETTER ESTIMATE ONCE HE / SHE ARRIVES ON THE JOB SITE BASED ON THE SIZE OF THE JOB AND ANY EXTRAS.

Q: WHAT FLOORING SURFACE SHOULD BE INSTALLED FIRST? / CAN I HAVE MY CARPET INSTALLED BEFORE MY WOOD / LAMINATE, TILE OR VINYL?
A: TYPICALLY, THE MESSIEST INSTALLATION IS DONE FIRST AND USUALLY CARPET GOES LAST. IN ORDER TILE OR STONE WOULD GO FIRST, THEN VINYL, WOOD / LAMINATE AND THEN CARPET. IN THE CASE OF A TILE AND VINYL INSTALLATION WHERE BOTH MATERIALS MEET, THE VINYL WOULD GO FIRST SO THAT THE TILE CAN BE FINISHED PROPERLY WITH A TRANSITION SUCH AS A SCHLUTER METAL.

Q: CAN I HAVE TILE INSTALLED IN MY MOBILE OR MANUFACTURED HOME?
A: DUE TO THE IRREGULARITY OF JOIST SUPPORT IN MOBILE AND MANUFACTURED HOMES, WE DO NOT INSTALL CERAMIC OR NATURAL STONE TILES IN THESE HOMES.

Q: CAN I HAVE CARPET INSTALLED IN MY PARK MODEL OR MOTOR HOME?
A: PARK MODELS AND MOTOR HOMES ARE A TOTAL CUSTOM INSTALLATION AND A CUSTOM LABOR COST. THESE INSTALLATIONS MAY REQUIRE MEASUREMENT AND/OR JOBSITE INSPECTION PRIOR TO OUR INSTALLATION HOUSE ACCEPTING THE JOB AND QUOTING A LABOR PRICE. EACH JOB ACCEPTED FOR THESE APPLICATIONS ARE ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS AND NOT ALL JOBS ARE AUTOMATICALLY ACCEPTED.

Q: WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED CARPET FACE WEIGHT USED FOR COMMERCIAL CARPET?
A: A MINIMUM OF 28 OUNCES IS REQUIRED FOR COMMERCIAL USE.

Q: CAN I HAVE CARPET INSTALLED IN MY GARAGE?
A: YES, HOWEVER DAMAGE BY VEHICLES IS NOT IN ANY WAY COVERED BY WARRANTIES.
